The silly season has well and truly begun! The team at The Charming Squire have been busy with new menus, countless Christmas functions, the arrival of two new small batch beers and finalising the details for A Night in Santorini, our New Year’s Eve event for this year. We have started our official countdown to Christmas Day and in the process have put together a list of ways you can Have Yourself a Charming Little Christmas in 2017.

Christmas: the one time of year it is acceptable to eat excessively, gain five kegs and embrace 4pm food comas. Thanks to the warm (and slightly muggy) weather that has arrived in Brisbane, our Chefs decided it was time to add some deliciously refreshing dishes to our menus. Next time you dine in the restaurant with us, try the new fish of the day which is served with capsicum coulis, crab & courgette fritter, olive cheeks, basil oil. If you’re stopping by for a quick feed and our live music in the bar, give the smokey BBQ braised pulled pork sliders a whirl which are with apple sauce and coleslaw. Lastly, if you find yourself needing a hangover cure, head to the Brewer’s Pantry for a serving of apple cider and sage fritters, served with chipotle spiced apple puree, BBQ pork and poached eggs.

P.S. Our Instagram is roundup of all the good food you can order at The Charming Squire.

DRINK

The beers on tap at The Charming Squire are always changing which provides you with the perfect excuse to frequent the bar over Christmas. We’ve even got beer paddles available for those who find it tough to decide what to order (don’t blame you). The bar is open from 10am every day except for Christmas.

If beer isn’t your thing we won’t tell James Squire. Instead, one of our friendly team will offer you our long list of wines, cocktails and bottled beverages all of which will keep your thirst at bay.

GIVE

It’s true that when you grow older, Christmas becomes less about receiving and more about giving. It’s easy to get caught up in spending a lot of money during the Christmas period and for this reason, The Charming Squire are partaking in the DineSmart campaign for the second year running. DineSmart is a great cause that unites restaurants and their diners, fundraising and supporting grassroots projects that tackle homelessness. We’re hoping to remind the community that not everyone is fortunate enough to enjoy the luxury of spoiling their loved ones at one of the most joyful times year.

The DineSmart campaign is easy to get involved with. In short, our restaurant staff will be asking you if you’d like to make a donation which will then be added to your bill at the end of the night. Every single dollar makes its way to projects that assist in improving lives. Help us give others the chance to enjoy Christmas this year! For more information on DineSmart and how you can make a difference, please click here.

Once you’ve given to DineSmart, give the gift of James Squire beers and delicious food. Our office has been inundated with requests for gift vouchers so if you need something awesome to stuff the better half’s stocking with, simply email us and we’ll help make it happen.
