The Portland Hotel’s new brewer Dan Dainton has created a new beer to celebrate the start of 2012. At this stage, Dan is keeping the specifics of the beer pretty quiet, but some hints over the Portland’s James Squire Brewhouse Facebook & Twitter feeds hint that there was a delivery of fresh hops from the northern hemisphere dropped off at the Portland the day before the brewing commenced. The beer was transferred to the serving tanks on New Years Day revealing that the ABV is 5.9%.

So expect some big flavour and a hop hits!The Portland Hotel will be launching brew #227 (yet to be named) on the Tuesday the 10th January @ 7pm.
