$60 per person

Opened in 1911 as the Scarborough Hotel, and previously renamed Marty’s on the Beach, the Beach House Hotel, offers economy accommodation and full cafe facilities with relaxed, friendly dining. The hotel’s motto runs along the lines … “The only thing we overlook is Fraser Island”, so you’re bound for a great experience. Combine that with a lunch matching James Squire’s beers to specially created dishes and the possibility of whales frolicking in the Bay, this is an experience not to miss. Hosted by The Malt Shovel Brewery’s Craft Beer Specialist, Andrew Gowdie, see what the beer and food occasion is all about and enjoy all that beer can offer. The Beach House is the only pub in Hervey Bay boasting ocean views so why not grab a seat out the front and take in the views and breezes and if you’re quick enough get yourself a place at this fun and informative event.

Tales & Ales Lunch in Yandina, Sunshine Coast
Yandina Hotel, Yandina.
@ Midday, Friday 1st October 2010
$ tbc per person

Yandina was a staging depot on the route between Brisbane and the Gold fields in Gympie. John Sommer built the Australian Hotel in Yandina around 1887 and granted a licence in 1889. However, he discovered he had built it on the wrong site & in 1891 the Australian Hotel was hitched up to a team of bullocks and moved on skids to its present location. It will definitely be the right location to be at on the 1st of October though, when James Squire Tales and Ales will be presented by Malt Shovel Brewery’s Craft Beer Specialist, Andrew Gowdie, over a few hours of lunching.
Presented in the Underground Cellar bar The Yandina’s multiple international award winning chef will take you on a culinary journey like no other and we’ll have a few flavourful and interesting beers to talk about too.
