Dave Edney - our Melbourne based brewer, at the James Squire microbrewery at the Portland Hotel has just created the 200th brew ‘Two Centurions’. As you may have remembered from Dave’s previous blog he loves to brew American style IPAs. This particular brew is based on styles from Northwest USA. With Pale, Munich and dark crystal malts it has a rich maltiness and orange/amber colour. Four different hops have been used to give a punchy bitterness that is highly aromatic. The big complex aroma has grapefruit, marmalade and piney resinous notes and finishes dry with a long lingering bitter finish.
This limited brew is available on tap from September at the Portland Hotel and James Squire Brewhouse.
Of course they can’t create such a brew without a launch party, details are still to be confirmed but it will be on the 14th September and Dave will be there as well. Spaces are limited and members of the Portland Hotel will be offered tickets first. To find out more information closer to the date click to become a member of The Portland Hotel.

Hi Dave,
It is great to hear about this new beer. I love American style IPAs and really would like to try this brew. Will it ever be available in Brisbane?
Cheers
