Summer is upon us, a time of harvest and frantic beer making in preparation for Christmas and the holiday season. We are coming off excellent November sales with the James Squire brands showing strong growth right around the country. Following on from last year we expect December to again be a big month for sales.
The brewers have also been working to fine-tune our next limited release. In keeping with the harvest theme, our Mad Brewers have been carefully crafting a crisp and fruity delight which is based on a Belgian seasonal style but as usual with a slightly off beat twist. At this stage we still don’t know exactly how it will turn out, but that’s half the fun. You can expect to see this release in bottle shops around mid January in the usual 640mL Mad Brewers format and on tap at selected venues including the James Squire Brewhouses.
Following on from the successful opening of The Generous Squire venue in Perth, we are excited to announce that Hobart beer lovers will soon have there very own Squire venue opening in early December at Salamanca. The Squire’s Bounty will have the full range of James Squire beers available on tap plus a great range of food to delight your taste buds. Owned and operated by well known and highly respected Tasmanian publican Paul Jubb, this venue is a must to check out before Christmas. The Squire’s Bounty does not at this stage include a microbrewery but will feature all our core range on tap including India Pale Ale and Porter, plus the James Squire and Mad Brewers limited releases as they become available.
Here’s to a great summer,
Tony Jones
Chief Brewer

Like the Local Taphouse why dont’ you guys have a homebrewers night where we can get feedback from some of the professionals
Love your work, can’t wait for the next limited releases, Brew.
I will be adding it to my collection….
I agree with mike that the homebrewers met for feedback .
Yairs, can’t wait to try the seasonal release.
I would love to see the Generous Squire here in Perth feature some/all of the brews as seen at the Sydney/Melbourne brewhouses. There is a big market for craft beers here in W.A.
I also believe that if it were possible, the Hop Thief ale should be a permanent fixture.
Thanks for not leaving Hobart off the map…our footprints of thanks will be shown in empty squires bottles and glasses. Cheers to JS and a summer of high spirits in Van Diemen’s Land!
If the new beer is called orchard ale which part of it is from the belgian seasonal style of the harvest.
Can you let me known what hop type you used it this beer for when i can purchase this beer.
